1994

The first audio system Concept 120 is introduced, the authentic predecessor to the current line array systems.

Concept 120 is one of the first PA systems in the world whose cabinets covered 120º horizontally using only one cabinet. This revolutionary system was presented at Frankfurt Trade Fair in 1994 and even though it attracted attention it was not launched at a commercial level. The market was focused on another type of system and VMB preferred to leave it to one side and concentrate on the launch of the Concept C-1 and Concept C-2 systems, more in accordance with the trends of that time. However, the idea of horizontal coverage was not rejected at all and it appeared again some years later.

Concept Audio Systems were very well received among the professionals and in 1996 the design of the new generation digital processors was under way, in order to cover the necessities of these systems in live situations.

In the meantime, the VMB towerlifts became a standard for load elevation. The great success of the VMB towerlifts created the appearance of a big number of fakes and copies on the market, being the reference to follow by other manufacturers. This situation led the company to patent the designs and to register all its new commercial models.
