Rainbow is now becoming regarded as one of the best acoustical prediction softwares available and now with the release of Rainbow V2 there are even more possibilities. In our opinnion Rainbow V2 exceeds the majority of programmes currently available on the market.
To be able to "virtually" determine the behaviour of one or various cabinets in particular situations before they are installed or set-up has infinite advantages.The Rainbow software simulates VMB cabinet behaviour in a given application and helps prepare all types of sound reinforcement projects big and small. It is designed to help designers, installers, engineers, technicians and all VMB users who demand accurate predictions.
Rainbow V2 enables the following functions:
- Prediction of up to 4 Line Arrays of 24 cabinets each simultaneously, together with multiple points with cabinets
- Flying point information according to the inclination of the cabinets
- Weight calculation of the different systems
- Sub-bass simulation (for instance to achieve cardiod configurations)
- Orientation of cabinets (Horizontal/vertical)
- Throw Direction of cabinets (right/ left)
- Individual delay per cabinet/system
- Polarity selection for each cabinet
- Up to 40 process insertions with Equalization and CrossOver assignable per cabinet.
- Simulation of the Air absorption sound loss with the distance

Based on polar response measurements of each cabinet (Line Array and Installation models), taken meticulously at 5º intervals and with 360º cabinet coverage both vertically and horizontally the Rainbow software is able to calculate the SPL response of one or various cabinets including the interaction between them taking in to account the magnitude and phase response of each one, enabling the user to correct or even create cancellation if the design so requires.
As customary with VMB software with an intuitive, user friendly, multi-tool interface and online updatable data base, Rainbow's aim is to help installers/users and it is even able import WMF Vector files with technical drawings directly in to the prediction plan thus enabling real measurement predictions. This also helps determine dead zones and obtain the maximum performance from each of the cabinets installed.
The software automatically updates itself, meaning Rainbow always provides a library of all VMB cabinets.
